REGENCY INSPIRED COUTURE

A New Vintage-Eclectic

"A unique aesthetic drawing on sartorial elements of the Regency fashion period"

Fashion Plates sourced from Journal des Dames et des Modes, Costume Parisien, Style Revolution.

This Regency-inspired couture Spencer jacket draws from early nineteenth-century dress, where garments were constructed with precision, proportion, and an understanding of how clothing shaped presence within portraiture.
While pieces such as this reference historical design, they are not created as costume. They form part of a broader exploration into how couture and portraiture can come together to express identity with restraint and intention by drawing of sources of beautiful historical couture fashion silhouettes.
Within my work, garments like this are often considered in relation to portraiture — where clothing becomes part of a woman's narrative and how she chooses to be seen and remembered.
