Silk Satin Organza Edwardian Inspired Blouse

Hello,

Welcome to an update of my Edwardian inspired blouse project. It’s been a while since I last spent some time working on this project. My goal in 2021 is to finally get it finished! 🙂

Over the Christmas holidays I made some more progress working on the front bodice. I began making the bodice underlay in beautiful silk satin organza!

Silk satin organza is much sturdier than standard silk organza. It has a slippery satin finish on one side. It is a wonderful fabric for making blouses that need some support. It’s also not too sheer and exudes elegance in a soft and subtle way.

Do you like it? Let me know in the comments below!

There’s not much more work to do on the front bodice now, just some hand stitching to attach the Guipure lace trim to the bottom edge of the midriff section! After that, it’s time to move onto the sleeves!
